Serge Bromberg on Film Restoration & Changing Technology

In this exclusive interview, Serge Bromberg, film preservationist and founder of Paris-based Lobster Films, describes how technological advances changed the way Lobster Films and The Chaplin Project restored CHAPLIN’S MUTUAL COMEDIES and the upcoming Essanay collection compared to the earlier CHAPLIN AT KEYSTONE collection. Says Bromberg, “the coming of digital technologies is a revolution . . . You can do the best with your film – Unfortunately, you can also show the worst.” Listen to the full interview below.

A new collection of Chaplin’s Essanay films will be released by Summer 2015. Today, you can see the impressive results of this painstaking restoration on Blu-ray/DVD in CHAPLIN’S MUTUAL COMEDIES, now available in a Limited Edition SteelBook.
